It started as a dare. Abbas Alibhai was a newly trained paramedic back in 2014, looking for work with some time on his hands.
“Hey, since you’re home, want to try making a cheesecake?” his mother suggested. Then she added the kicker: “Never mind. It’s really hard. Don’t worry about it.” That’s all he needed to hear.
With trepidation, Alibhai gave it shot — setting up his own Instagram and Facebook page, Cake Medic. And now, that little hobby to “kill time” has risen to become a thriving home-based business.
