Stouffville health-care provider looks to make own face shields with 3D printers

“This was born out of need,” Turner said. The owner-operator of Stouffville-based 1to1 Rehab said there is an alarming shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) in the province on the horizon. The therapists at 1to1 Rehab are considered an essential service. With the goal of getting all non-essential patients out of the hospital as soon as possible, Turner said therapists at 1to1 Rehab need to see clients where they live, like retirement homes. “In order to do that, we need personal protective equipment,” Turner said. “We haven’t received our shipment that was due in January.”
