Fast forward to today. Rabbi Grossbaum has made a move, literally. He and his family now live in Newmarket and have spearheaded the establishment of the Chabad Newmarket Jewish Centre. The centre is in the Yonge and Davis Drive area at Newmarket plaza, Unit 4. The plaza has no sign yet to indicate it is a Jewish centre.
When Rabbi Grossbaum, a Thornhill native, visited Newmarket last Hanukkah, he made several discoveries that influenced him to open a Chabad centre and move his family — wife Libba and one-year-old son Levi — to Newmarket.
