This new building on Highway 27, about a half kilometre from the company’s previous office at adidas Canada, already seems more home than headquarters. Everyone I spoke with — including TaylorMade chief executive officer, David Abeles, chief financial officer (Canadian) Jeff Barker, who flew into Toronto from Carlsbad for the special event, and Weir, now 19 years deep into his run as a TaylorMade tour staff player — sound thrilled with the finished product.
The buzz among those assembled for the grand opening gala was about the comfort level of the space; how it will offer improved flow of day-to-day operations (administrative and fitting); and how much better having a standalone building entrenched solely in the TaylorMade culture will function for the brand and its customers/consumers.
