Georgina Celebrates New Roof at Pefferlaw Ice Pad

Georgina, ON – Members of Council joined residents today for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Pefferlaw Ice Pad (PIP) to celebrate infrastructure improvements funded in part by the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150).

Members of Council joined residents today for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Pefferlaw Ice Pad (PIP) to celebrate infrastructure improvements funded in part by the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150).

The Town of Georgina received $315,000 through CIP 150, delivered by the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), for the construction of a roof enclosure over the outdoor ice pad. The new roof over the Pefferlaw Ice Pad will extend the winter season and allow for more usability during the spring and summer months by creating shade and protection from rain.
