Erie Meats, one of Canada’s largest meat processors, paid a visit to the Newmarket Food Pantry on May 4 to drop off a donation of 1,600 lbs. of meat to help those in need in the community.
With many friends in the business, specifically restaurant servers, chefs and owners that are struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic, not to mention hearing from the company’s 900 employees, every one of which, has had a family member or close friend whose income has been reduced, it was clear to Erie Meats that there will be a continued need at food banks and community food pantries across the country.
