New Housing Market Continues to Climb With Condo Sales Reaching Record High
Greater Toronto, July 25, 2017 – In June, the GTA’s new housing market continued to climb with condominium sales reaching a new record high, the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) announced today.
Sales of new multi-family condo apartments in high-rise and mid-rise buildings and stacked townhomes jumped 59 percent from May and prices for available units also continued to push higher, according to Altus Group, BILD’s official source for new-home market intelligence. New home sales were up 23 percent from June 2016 with 28,889 new homes sold so far in 2017 – a 14 percent increase from the same period in 2016 and a 44 percent jump from the 10 year average.
