On behalf of York Regional Council and The Regional Municipality of York, I am pleased to see progress on the Yonge North Subway Extension, Council’s number one transportation priority.
Today, the Province of Ontario, through Metrolinx, released the Yonge North Subway Extension Initial Business Case, advancing the project to the next stage of preliminary engineering and design. This signifies a major project milestone as the Government of Ontario moves closer to getting shovels in the ground to build this provincial priority project.
York Region welcomes the Ontario government’s unwavering commitment to make it easier for travellers in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area to choose transit first by advancing the Initial Business Case for the Yonge North Subway Extension project.
