York University student Erfan Nouraee has won a bronze medal at one of the most coveted international invention and innovation awards by the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) based in Geneva.
Nouraee, a 19-year-old Lassonde electrical engineering student, was representing Canada among the top 1,000 inventors from 35 countries. The medal is one of the most important innovation awards given to inventors.
Nouraee’s invention is an optical fibre communication sensor that can detect particles of light, and it solves a major issue in the optical fibre industry.
