
When Newmarket resident Yulia Druzhnikova got a patent for her first company, a drone development startup, she realized she didn’t know how to make sure her original technology was protected. That’s how she got the idea for her second startup, an AI-powered search that helps innovators across Canada identify and prevent patent infringement.
Druzhnikova serves as co-founder and CEO of PioneerIP, which launched 16 months ago with early-stage support from the Newmarket-based Treefrog Accelerator. The accelerator accepts proposals from local businesses and has helped startup founders gain the skills needed to scale their business since 2021.
