Hanon Systems to build its first EV parts facility in Vaughan, creating 300 new jobs

Global auto parts company Hanon Systems, headquartered in South Korea, is investing $155-million to build a new 284,200 sq. ft. electric vehicle parts manufacturing facility in Vaughan, York Region!

York Region’s economic development team was pleased to be onsite for the announcement, and to assist Vaughan Economic Development, Invest Ontario and Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation & Trade, to support Hanon Systems as it was considering and planning this major investment project.

The new facility will manufacture e-compressors, an essential component for electric vehicles, creating 300 jobs and strengthening the province’s growing end-to-end EV supply chain. This will be the first e-compressor manufacturing facility in North America and Hanon Systems second plant in York Region!

York Region is home to Canada’s largest independent automotive parts and electronics manufacturing cluster. This new investment by Hanon Systems speaks to the strength of our auto parts and autotech sector; making it a location of choice due to close proximity to major OEMs, other parts manufacturers in the supply chain, and a high-quality labour force.
