Celebrating Ontario’s Agriculture Week

October 3 to 9, 2022 is Ontario Agriculture Week, and we're celebrating the abundance of food our farmers produce.

Ontario Agriculture Week is a time to recognize the tireless efforts of Ontario’s farmers and the abundance of food they produce. Here in York Region, we’re taking the time to thank the hardworking farmers who work tirelessly to feed our communities, create local jobs and support our rural communities.

Not only is local food fresher and better for the environment, but when you eat local, you support the many farms that call York Region home. The agri-food sector in York Region – covering everything from farms, to food processors, grocery stores and more – contributes over $2.7 billion in GDP to the local economy and supports over 57,000 jobs.
