Tech Investments, Jobs, and Tech Experts Collide in York Region’s #YRtech Pavilion at Collision

Last month, 35,000 attendees from over 140 countries flocked to Toronto for Collision Conference, which returned to an in-person format for the first time since 2019. Piramal Expansion is Beginning of New Chapter for Healthcare Company in Aurora

Piramal Pharma Solutions, which manufactures pharmaceutical products, formally opened its third plant in Aurora last Thursday. “A great deal has changed in the world since we did our ground-breaking just prior to COVID, but it’s wonderful to see everyone out here [for a] nice opportunity to celebrate a wonderful achievement on behalf of Piramal, the Aurora site, and the Aurora community,” said Piramal Executive Vice President Paolo Fiorino. READ MORE

ventureLAB’s HardTech Pitch Competition Offers $50,000 to Innovative Companies

The HardTech Pitch Competition, delivered in partnership by ventureLAB and The Regional Municipality of York, is open for applications to small and medium enterprises incorporated in Canada developing hardware innovations. Finalists will have the opportunity to showcase their technology to a broad audience including industry, investors, government, media, and compete to win a collective of $50,000 in cash prizing! Agri-robot in the field

Agri-Robotics Demonstrations Hosted in the Holland Marsh

Earlier this month, our team visited the University of Guelph’s Muck Crops Research Station in the Holland Marsh to get a first-hand look of some impressive robots changing the agri-tech space. These high-tech robots are improving agricultural techniques and practices now and into the future by automating a number of jobs. This includes navigating and remove weeds autonomously, using cameras and a neural network to differentiate between weeds and crops. READ MORE
