The streets of downtown Newmarket will be busy with TV crews in the coming weeks. The Town of Newmarket announced it is hosting a large production company, cast and crew from March 21 to April 3 to shoot scenes for a popular television series in the downtown core. “Restrictions are lifting and we’re sending a message – Newmarket is open for business,” says Mayor John Taylor. “Having a major television series shoot in our town is an opportunity to shine the spotlight on us, get new people in our shops, restaurants and hotels and bring back the vitality and energy we once felt in our downtown core.”
The production company anticipates a $200,000 economic impact for Newmarket on the whole, including rental and permit fees to the town, accommodations at local hotels and several hundred cast and crew members who will shop, dine and experience Newmarket.
