A “Turkey Shoot” is known as a sure thing. But for Kyle and Jaclyn Stewart, owners of Turkey Shoot Brewing Company (TSBC), the phrase is a reminder to remain humble, patient and optimistic as they strive for success with their microbrewery based in Georgina, Ontario.
TSBC started out as a basement brewery in Etobicoke but Kyle and Jaclyn soon needed a larger space to meet the demand for their range of popular craft beers. They came home to Georgina to open their microbrewery, tap room and bottle shop, that opened its doors in April 2021.
Today, they offer 14 taps consisting of mainstays, rotating and small batch brews. While the flavours vary, everything they offer is connected to home in thoughtful ways. “We try to stay true to our local community as much as possible, and that includes everything from the ingredients to the design of the cans,” said Kyle.
So, just how local are they?
A local artist created the map on their packaging. Beers are named after local places fans can relate to, like Lake Simcoe Lagered Ale (available from the brewery, in local bars & restaurants and in several local LCBO stores), and Pefferlaw Pale Ale or Cedarbrae Cream Ale, inspired by local towns or streets in the area.
Even flavours used in their unique beers come from as many local partners as possible, such as Elpida, a Blonde beer that is flavoured with coffee from a local roaster located just down the road! What’s more, all of their beer is made using 100% Ontario grown hops, which is relatively unique even for local brews.

Their commitment and connection to the local community extends into their Tap Room and Beer Garden experience. It has become a popular hub for locals and a special treat for tourists to participate in trivia and game nights, open mic events or listen to musicians play as they sample the beverages and food available through the changing seasons. It’s also a special location for event rentals and private parties.
When asked what their future plans are, Kyle says there’s nowhere to go but up. “We’re now focused on growing our business and expanding our tap list. Looking ahead, we are optimistic that we’ll continue to grow by providing residents and tourists with a unique destination, offering great local beer and community.”
